Believing in Human Capital development and sharpening the capabilities through the provision of equal employment opportunities, Al Salam Bank-Bahrain in cooperation with Disabled Services Centre recruited a number of special needs employee. This recruitment is a sign of the importance of integrating people with special needs in the workplace leading them to contribute to the country development and prosperity.
The contracts of the two special needs employee were signed lately at the bank’s premises in the presence of Mr Abdulkarim Turki, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Al Salam Bank-Bahrain and Mr Abbas Al Markhi, Head of Disabled Service Center – Ministry of Social Development. The signing ceremony was attended by some of the bank’s management Mrs Muna Al Balushi, Head of Human Resources and Mr Isa Showaiter, Senior Officer. The bank will facilitate the enrolment of the new employee in workplace to be part of Al Salam Bank-Bahrain employee family
On this occasion, Mr Turki commented “the bank is keen since inception to attract the qualified Bahraini and give them growth & development opportunity” emphasizing specific recommendation from the bank’s Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Yousif Taqi, to pay attention to employ special needs graduates and facilitate their enrolment in market place. Turki added “Our Director & CEO’s recommendation had an impact in emphasizing the recruitment of special needs graduates”. He noted that the bank and out of social responsibility has spared no effort in supporting & providing all available possibilities to refine and sharpen its employee skills as they are the mainstay of success.
Mrs Al Balushi, Head of Human Resources stated that this is the first time the bank cooperates with the Disables Centre, one of the rehabilitation Centers of Ministry of Social Development, and we shall extend further cooperation whenever the need arises. She confirmed that the bank’s policy in attracting qualified Bahrainis is clear as Bahranization percentage reached approximately 85%.
It should be noted that the role of the special needs employee is vital for the continuity and sustainability of work as the new employee will facilitate and provide support services to all staff in different departments.
